The Mühlemann laboratory at the University of Bern, Switzerland, which is associated with the Swiss national research center for RNA & Disease, has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow. The position is fully funded for 2 years by a collaborative research grant from the NOMIS Foundation shared with the Blencowe, Allain, Zenklusen, and Novacek labs. Starting date upon mutual agreement, as soon as possible.
Candidates must have a PhD in molecular biology or biochemistry and a sound practical and theoretical background in RNA biology.

• are an experienced, highly skilled biochemist who enjoys purifying protein complexes from cells, engineering cell lines by genome editing, and conduct proteomics and transcriptomics analyses
• are excited to participate in the collaborative quest of elucidating the structure and functions of a recently re-discovered hnRNP complex termed the ribonucleosome in human cells (see: Domanski et al., NAR 2022)

We are looking for a top motivated, team-oriented young scientist with a sound theoretical and practical background in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology and with a passion for RNA biology. Basic skills in bioinformatics would be a plus. We offer the opportunity to work in a scientifically thriving environment and to develop an internationally competitive research project revolving around the role of NMD in cancer.
